The club from its very outset has been a major supporter of many local charities, especially the Little Sisters of the Poor based in the Holy Rosary Home in South Street, Greenock Town hall with express intention of raising funds for the Little Sisters of the Poor. The report from the Greenock branch in the first issue of the Celtic Supporters' Association magazine of 1946 states:

  • In the near future our branch intends to organise a function from which we hope to provide the Little Sisters of the Poor, of the town of Greenock, with a donation to aid them carry out their devoted duties to the aged and infirm members of their community. I might also add that this function at the request of the members will in future by an annual event during the life-time of this branch of the Association.
  • Another later example is that a dance was held in the Town Hall on Friday, 11 December, 1953 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. with Jackie Dunlop and his Rhythm Boys. The price of a ticket was 3/6 (17 1/2p) for a gent with ' late buses to all parts'. On 20 October 1957 it was agreed that a common good fund funded from the 'last house' in the bingo be established due to the number of organisations asking for monetary help.
  • Over the years the club has donated a sizeable sum to the Little Sisters, during 1994 alone the club donated £2,400.
  • The club also raises money to send any member of relatives of members on pilgrimage to Lourdes if they meet the criteria laid by the Lourdes Hospitalite of the Diocese of Paisley. This has been extended to friends of members and also to funding a pilgrim on the Across to Lourdes Jumbalance. Some 4 to 6 people have been sent on pilgrimage annually.
  • Other charities supported include Inverclyde Council for Social Service, with the club currently providing sponsorship to maintain two vehicles used to carry people requiring specialist transport; Ardgowan Hosprice; St. Margaret of Scotland Adoption Society; SPUC to which sizeable donations are given. Donations are also provide annually to local senior citizen groups, St. Vincent de Paul Societies and local school and nursery groups. The club also gives the use of their premises to the Greenock Central Old Age Pensioners group free of charge.
  • This year the club raised over £500 for Father Brian Fulton's mission in the Cameroon. Father Fulton from Gourock, is a member of the Holy Ghost Fathers who travels with the club to Celtic matches when he is home on leave. The club also held a successful charity dance on 30 June 1995 attended by Fergus McCann, chairman of Celtic F.C. and Willie Haughey, director of Celtic F.C..
  • sadly Fr Brian Fulton has now passed away (sadly missed)
  • The club has also not forgotten the decreased members of the club and a Requiem Mass is held annually during November in one of the six Roman Catholic Churches in Greenock. At the time of crisis when a member has died the club provides a monetary donation to the wife of next of kin if the member was retired or, in the case of an ordinary member the £1000 the club receives from the insurance policy paid weekly by the members
